Dr Wyn Ellis is Coordinator of the Sustainable Rice Platform, a global multi-stakeholder initiative, working to promote adoption of sustainable climate-smart best practice and resource use efficiency throughout rice value chains. The SRP recently launched the world’s first sustainability standard for rice. Wyn Ellis has 35 years’ experience in Asia, working with UN and other international agencies, governments, universities and corporate clients. His fields of expertise cover value chain standards and certification, organic agriculture, crop protection and agro-innovation. He has authored many academic publications, book chapters and articles. He also serves on the Editorial Board of several international journals.

A soil scientist by training, Dr. Bijay Singh is an INSA Senior Scientist at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He has been working on different aspects of nitrogen fertilizer management for more than three decades. He is a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and has won several awards. His work on site-specific and need-based application of nitrogen fertilizers to rice and wheat should greatly improve fertilizer nitrogen management and help achieve not only sustainable yields in rice-wheat systems but also maintain soil fertility for future generations.

Dr. Husnain is the Head of Soil Chemistry and Fertility Division of the Indonesian Soil Research Institute (ISRI), Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD). She earned her PhD degree from Tottori University, Japan. She is a member of the technical team of the Fertilizer and Pesticide Inspection. She works mostly for soil and fertilizer research and development. Her on-going research projects include: formulation of site- and crop-specific fertilizer, evaluation of direct application of reactive phosphate rock for oil palm and maize, horticultural fertigation, and rehabilitation of ex mining area.
